Sachin Tendulkar says http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 will look for glory in the World Cup 2011 Final
Indian batsman, Sachin Tendulkar has said India will search for glory against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 with a margin of 29 runs.
Cricket is no less than a religion in this part of the Subcontinent and people are desperate to see the Indian team perform their best in the competition. The semi-final proved to be a spectacular game for India, and especially for the Little Master, Sachin Tendulkar.
The batting maestro is delighted on reaching the final and said, “The final in Mumbai will be a fantastic occasion. We will focus on the job in hand and try to get the job done”.
Throughout the tournament, India’s performance has been consistent and they have obviously worked hard, beating tough opponents like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 and England. In Mohali, India batted first and managed to make 260 runs in their innings. It was not a particularly smooth innings from the Indian batsmen, as they endeavoured to outdo the Pakistani bowlers, and felt short of 20-30 odd runs in the end.
In comparison, the Pakistani batsmen were far feeble in their approach, as they struggled to chase runs at a consistent pace in some of the crucial overs of the match. Tendulkar played an impressive knock of 85 runs in the match and helped his side in building a good foundation.
Though, he was dropped 4 times in the match, Tendulkar persisted in his innings, scoring boundaries whenever the opportunity was presented to him. He further said, “It’s always memorable to play against Pakistan and to be the winning side five times against them is a memory I will always cherish.”
Since the 1992 World Cup, Tendulkar has played in all 5 matches of the World Cup against Pakistan and has always ended up on the winning side. His concentration is now on the Final, where he aims to deliver his best against the competitive Sri Lankan side.
India’s record against Sri Lanka in their own backyard has been splendid. India seems to have a definite advantage against Sri Lanka for the encounter at Mumbai, as they have previously played against tougher teams in the competition and now have more reliable batsmen in their lineup.
