The former Indian captain and the legendary batsman, Sachin Tendulkar, is not in favour of experimenting with day-night Tests and feels that this idea should be initially implemented in first-class cricket.
The game has become faster with the passage of time and most of the analysts believe that the International Cricket Council (http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625) needs to make some changes in the longer version of the sport to attract more viewers.
On top of that, in order to make sure that most of the matches yield results and fans do not witness dull draws, there has been a demand for the usage of artificial lights, which can be used to cover up for the lost time.
Tendulkar, who is rated as the best batsman of the modern-era, believes that such a drastic experiment cannot be taken at the highest level of the game and if the authorities are planning such a thing for future, they must try it out in domestic cricket
of different countries.
"But I wouldn't straightaway go to Test cricket. Why not first try it out in first class cricket and get response from the players all across the world, not just a few countries, but all across the world and then take that step forward," he said.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board (PCB) has taken the initiative and organized the finals of the previous two Quaid e Azam Trophies under lights. An orange ball was used in one match and a Pink one in the other, in order to assist visibility.
Tendulkar is a great fan of Tennis as well and revealed that Roger Federer is his favourite player, who has gone through a little slump in the recent times. The former Indian skipper wished him best of luck for the upcoming Wimbledon.
"I think a great player will always be a great player. Class is permanent. Form can be down, you know, there can be dips. Yes, I think he can (win another Grand Slam), for sure,” Tendulkar expressed.
