Sourav Ganguly, the former Indian skipper, has joined a group of former cricketers who think that the time has come for Sachin Tendulkar to realise that he is no longer a viable option for the Indian team in limited overs cricket,
and that he should hang up his boots.
Ganguly, who was Tendulkar’s most reliable opening partner in ODI, has urged the Little Master to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Steven-Mullaney-c2584 over his proposal and reconsider his future in the 50-over game.
The Prince of Calcutta said, “http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chinnadupargea-Sachin-c50607 has to ask himself whether he is good enough to play one-day cricket day in and day out; whether it's helping him missing tournaments and playing a one-day series after eight-nine months. If Sachin
can't get an answer to these questions, he has to go.”
Tendulkar has not been a regular in India’s ODI side for the last couple of years; the Master Blaster has been selecting series in which to take part and which to leave alone.
Ganguly believes that Indian team’s chemistry is being hurt by this in and out of Tendulkar from the side. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/LN-Onyango-c1844 held that Tendulkar should have retired from ODI’s after the 2011 World Cup. He sees no reason for the Little Master to
carry on considering he has accomplished everything that a batsman can.
He said, “It affects everyone's form if Tendulkar keeps coming in and going out of one-day tournaments. I said after the World Cup that Sachin needs to look at his one-day career because he has achieved everything in one-day cricket.”
The 38-year-old is currently with the Indian team that is taking part in the tri-nation CommonWealth Bank series in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746.
Runs have dried up from Tendulkar’s bat in the CB series, as he has only scored 90 runs from five innings at an average of 18.00, and this slump in form has forced the critics to raise questions over his inclusion in the team
Tendulkar’s ODI record is something that every batsman would dream off. The right-handed batsman is currently the leading scorer in the ODI format having scored 18201 runs from 458 matches at an astonishing average of 44.83. He also
holds the record for the most centuries in ODI’s and Test, his combined tally of international centuries stands at 99.
