After spending more than 22 years playing international cricket, the Indian batting maestro, Sachin Tendulkar, still feels hunger for the game and expressed that he has no plans of retirement in the near future.
The 39-year-old is considered to be one of the greatest batsmen of the history of the game. With more than 33 thousand runs at the ultimate level of the sport, no other batsman even comes close to the Little Master.
Since the last 12 months, India has struggled in Test cricket and lost the number one ranking after getting thrashed by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/R-Dravid-c2229 to
call it a day from international sport earlier this year.
However, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chinnadupargea-Sachin-c50607 wants to carry on playing for the country and expressed that his love for the game has not gone down at all, despite pressure from different ranks.
“I have grown up playing cricket. I haven’t done anything else in my life from a professional point of view. Cricket has been my life, my passion. I just want that to continue,” Tendulkar said.
While talking about the different formats of the game, the former Indian skipper mentioned that Test cricket has always remained his priority as it is the real test of a player’s ability. Tendulkar always wanted to become a Test cricketer and expressed that
it is up to the players to decide what they want to achieve.
“To make someone like Test cricket, it has to come from within. There is no set formula that you have to do certain things and then you start liking Test cricket,” the legendary batsman expressed. “I grew up dreaming about playing for India — that was the
biggest thing I wanted to achieve: to play Test cricket for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 and to do well.”
Since the inception of T20 cricket in the previous decade, a number of analysts believe that it is going to hamper Test cricket. However, the traditionalists still believe that every format of the game has its own beauty and the longer version remains the
pinnacle of the game.
