Sachin will need to make up his mind quickly feels http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wasim-Akram-c96292 – Cricket News Update
Former Pakistani fast bowler, Wasim Akram, has added his say on the future of veteran Indian batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Tendulkar-c2556, by claiming that the little Master will need to make up his mind quickly for the betterment of Indian cricket.
The leading run scorer in all forms of cricket has been criticized for his decision to prolong his association with the Men In Blue, despite a treacherous run of form for the best part of the past 18 months.
The situation has become bleaker in the wake of the team’s back-to-back Test defeats at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 in the ongoing home series where Tendulkar’s inability to handle spin has raised some serious eyebrows.
While his batting prowess remains matchless, Akram feels that it will be up to the selectors to make a definitive call on the maestro’s career. He however, argued that taking it up with the Little Master will be a tough ask for any due to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chinnadupargea-Sachin-c50607’s exalted position.
“The question is who will bell the cat? Who will http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sourav-Chandidas-Ganguly-c90746, feel he should retire, but Sachin himself might still want to continue for another six months or so. It's difficult to give any advice to a legend like Sachin,” Akram added.
With team http://www.senore.com/Cricket/VVS-Laxman-c2772 in the current year, pressure has mounted on Tendulkar to make a call on his future. The Master Blaster himself asserted that he will see out the current series against England and then decide whether to quit.
Having recently watched http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RT-Ponting-c2377 bidding farewell to cricket, Akram feels that the Tendulkar could follow suit after Punter claimed that it was more down to his poor form rather than age, which made the call easy. The former pacer further argued that new faces indeed remain the order of the day, but warned the Men In Blue from making wholesale changes, despite the current slump.
“The changes have to be made carefully. One shouldn't tamper too much with the team line-up. But the middle order needs a few new faces.”
The Men In Blue will be looking to save the series when they meet England in the final Test, which starts tomorrow.
