Sack Lunch?

My daughter is going on a field trip and has to take a sack lunch that everything can be thrown away. So no ice pack. I was asking for ideas. I was going to do a PB&J but I heard that jelly has to stay cold.

  1. PBJ is fine.

  2. PB&J is fine.  It will only be out for a few hours.  The open jar should be refrigerated.  If you are worried, try a PB and banana sandwich.  You can also try something like crackers spread with peanut butter and topped with apples (make a sandwich with crackers).  If she likes veggies, get one of those snack sized ranch dip containers and give her assorted veggies.  If you are concerned about things staying cold, free some water or put ice in a ziploc.  That ice pack can be thrown away.

  3. PB and J is great. Throw in a cold semi frozen fruit juice drink and frozen grapes and all is good.

  4. PB&J are fine it does not have to stay cold I'd go with chips and an apple

  5. I agree the PB&J is fine.. if you dont want to use it.. how about peanut butter and HONEY.. uhmmm.. also freezing the juice box to keep other foods cold is a good idea.. do you live in a hot climate?

  6. I agree, PB & J is fine! And not to mention, yummy! Just think, it is easier and safer than mayo sitting for hours. lol.

    :)

Jello and fruit cups also are great, too!

  7. if you make it the day before and put it in the frige over night then right before school put it in her lunch box it wont go bad. im 12 ik wut im talking about

  8. u can use ham or cheese and also bring some chips and a juice pack

  9. great way to teach your daughter about nutrition!  make a note of the food groups and have her choose foods that will create a balanced diet for the meal -let her do the shopping.

  10. Freeze a juice box and put it in. that will keep the lunch cold.

    Fruit, sandwich, piece of cake.

  11. I froze my son's drink and placed that in a plastic bag with his lunch... that way I could send pudding, fruit cup, a sandwich or anything else... and it would stay relatively cold. Just be sure to include a napkin and plastic utensils. You can place the large ziplock bag in the paper bag... and it should be fine. I like to include a little note too.. just a little surprise for him... maybe extra cash if it somewhere he can pick up a souvenir :)
