Palermo President has revealed that he has been following the former Siena manager for a long time, and hopes that his relationship with the tacticain will prove to be a lasting one.
Maurizio Zamparini has vowed to change his temperament towards sacking coaches from Palermo on regular basis, and has stated that he plans on keeping hold of Giuseppe Sannino for long.
The Aquile chief has earned a notorious reputation for firing his managers, and went through three tacticians in the 2011-12 campaign alone.
Zamparini revealed that he has been following the performances of the former Robur coach very closely, and has come to admire the tactician’s way of motivating his lads to bring out the best out of them.
The Rosanero patron insisted that Sannino is delighted to be a part of Palermo, and exclaimed that he would deserve sacking himself if he fires the new manager.
While talking to Rai Sport, the Italian businessman said:
“I hope Sannino can last for five years. If I get rid of him early, then I deserve the sack instead. Sannino had a fantastic campaign with Siena and I watched him under a microscope. He brought good football and enthusiasm. Palermo
need Sannino and he is proud to be here with us.”

The Aquile patron stated that Miccoli wanted to quit the club at first, and the authorities were engaged in a discussion with the 32-year-old to decide on his future with the team.
The President revealed that they have put the talks with the veteran striker on hold, and relayed that the player has expressed his desire to extend his relationship with the outfit.
Zamparini went on to add that Silvestre wants to part company with the outfit, but maintained that the final decision will only be taken after negotiations have been completed.
“With Miccoli we adjourned our meeting for 10 days. I was pleased to hear he wants to stay at Palermo, if possible. Silvestre wants to leave, so did Miccoli at first, but he has changed his mind and so we’ll see what happens.”
