Sacramento Kings Rookie Jimmer Fredette trying to remain patient - NBA Update
Apart from few exceptions, NBA rookies usually struggle in their first exposure at the big stage. Their problems vary from difficulty in adjusting to fitness issues.
Sacramento Kings Rookie, Jimmer Fredette is fortunately not experiencing any of these problems, however there is one aspect that is proving just too tough for him to handle.
It is none other than “Losing”.
Kings have been off to a terrible start, and midway through the season, they stand at 10-22, the last defeat beinng against the mighty Miami Heat. Jimmer, who only lost a total of 31 games in his six years at the school and college
level, is finding it really hard to cope with the losses, however he is trying to remain positive.
“Keep playing hard and eventually things will turn around,” Fredette said. “You’ve just got to instill a winning attitude within the team. Everybody’s got to have it. You can’t just have a losing mentality even though you’re on
a losing team. That’s something I think that guys can fall into. ... That’s something I try not to get used to. You always stay mad. You always stay ready to go so you can try to keep winning basketball games.”
Jimmer has been putting extra hours in the practise session and is trying to work on the jump shot that he so often let hoim down this season. Jimmer knows, it is just the beginning of his NBA career and what he has seen so far
has taught him a lot, which would help him in the long run.
“This year is crazy, especially just with the travel and how many games we play. It’s abnormal, and also with the short training camp” Fredette said. “Everything’s happened. I’ve seen it all in my rookie year.”
The rookie is averaging only around 8 points per game so far; however that figure is definitely going to rise with time and exposure. He was a scoring machine at college basketball level and in a few performances on the NBA stage
he has showed that he possesses immense talent.
