The win was welcomed by Kings’ star DeMarcus Cousins, who rejoiced in the effort after the game.
"Put all the stats aside. The main thing is we got the win tonight," Cousins said. "At halftime we talked about our effort in the first half and we knew we had to come out in the second half with much more energy. ... We're getting better. We just need to
keep it up."
On the other hand, the Hornets were appalled at losing a game they had pretty much dominated until the final quarter.
"It's not easy for us. ... We played well enough to (win) games like this," Greivis Vasquez said. "We've lost games by two or three points and we keep doing the same thing over and over again. At some point we have to learn the hard way. Hopefully soon."
Vasquez was the most impressive player among the Hornets. He scored a team high 20 points and handed out game high 9 assists. Emeka Okafor also had a big night for New Orleans with 19 points and 7 rebounds while Marco Belinelli scored 18.
Centre Chris Kaman, who was rumoured to be on his way out of the franchise, had a double-double with 10 points and 12 boards.
New Orleans Hornets had a highest lead of 18 points in the game but still ended up losing, making it their 6th defeat in a row. On the other hand, the Kings would be pleased with a comeback win that means they have won 3 on the trot.
