Sacramento Kings suspend DeMarcus Cousins after another behavioral incident
Sacramento kings rookie DeMarcus Cousins was left behind by the franchise on a road trip on Sunday due to an incident that occurred in the locker room a game before. Cousins was upset with his teammate Donate Greene, who did not
passed him the ball in the final moments of the play. Greene assisted the ball to Tyreke Evans who missed a 3-pointer attempt as the game concluded in the kings Defeat 99-97 at their home court against Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday. Cousins achieved 14
points in the game as a result of 5 out of 14 shooting attempts.
Samuel Dalembert was included in the line-up who scored 18 points and 15 rebounds as the Kings ended their five-game losing streak. All of their consecutive five defeats took place at their home court as a road game against Suns
ended the streak.
Greene told that Cousins clashed with him in the locker room as he wanted to take the shot that was assisted to Evans.
The franchise stated in a brief statement on Sunday Cousins” will not play in tonight's game while the organization reviews the situation that occurred in the locker room”.
There was no indication about the decision that how long Cousins is sidelined from the team. The Managers and coach are going to examine the situation and will make a statement in this regards.
This was the fourth time of the season Cousins was involved in such behavioral incident. He had a clash with the Coach Paul Westphal in November and was removed from the practice. DeMarcus Cousins was also fined due to verbal disagreement
with the team associates and was benched for insulting Golden State guard Reggie Williams.
The 20 year old Rookie has always been an aggressive player and has a history of landing in trouble even in his college career. There was no point for him to react this way after failing on 9 attempts in Saturday’s game. Cousins
may have the talent to become a great player, however he needs to calm down before the organization decides that enough is enough. He should show his aggression to the opposition with his play rather than clashing with his own teammates.
