Sacramento Kings ventre DeMarcus Cousins call Los Angeles Clippers Blake Griffin an “actor”- NBA Update
Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffinhas been called an “actor” by Sacramento Kings centre DeMarcus Cousins, Griffin enjoyed the end of the action as Clippers trounced Kings 109-94 on Saturday night.
The two players play a pivotal role for their respective teams and with mounting pressure it is normal to react with aggression. However the moody Sacramento’ centre didn’t like the way officials dealt with the situation.
Griffin was given the benefit of doubt and Kings big called him an actor after the Thursday night game. Kings received a 93-85 defeat from Clippers and when Griffin was asked about the physicality on the court he said he would
rather leave what happened on the court in the court. Cousins, perhaps was not consolidated and didn’t shy away from commenting furiously about Griffin.
"Of course that's what Blake is going to say because he's in L.A., where actors belong," Cousins said Thursday. "He's an actor, so of course he would say that."
Griffin politically evaded from the situation and refrained from giving any incendiary statements.
“Well, I first heard about it from my acting coach. He sent me an e-mail and obviously he was thrilled. It was a complement. I guess he’s seen some commercials and stuff, so I appreciate it. Nah, I don’t care. I’m not into going
back and forth and name calling players through the media and all that just let it go.”
DeMarcus was fined $25,000 for criticizing the officials and it seemed that he has learnt his lesson the hard way. It was a different Cousins after Saturday night game.
“I’m in enough trouble as it is. … It’s not a (personal) rivalry,” he told reporters afterward. “We’re just playing ball. They’re a playoff team and we’re not, so it’s not much of a rivalry.”
Now it seems that the rivalry is over and neither of the two wants to create further intractability. Griffin enjoys the repute of a hot head as on various occasions he has been fined by the franchise for unprofessional conduct.
His accomplishments include being ejected for shoves and consequently suspended for the same reason. He was once benched for making choking signs and was also fined for the same artistic performance.
Clippers are currently on the 4th playoffs spot with 34 wins and 23 loses and a post season position is a done deal for them. On the contrary Kings are at the bottom of same conference with 19 wins and 39 loses. This
means that these two teams will not be confronting each other anymore in the regular season and by the start of next season this episode will be long forgotten.
