It suddenly hit me, I'm leaving home for months and I probably won't be living there a year or more, with the exception of Christmas and such. It's truly bittersweet, I can't wait to enter college and live it up but I'm just sad about the fact that I'm leaving the place I've lived in all my life. It's really a S****y feeling, help?

  1. Leaving the "nest" of security and homeliness isn't easy for any honest person to admit.

It was a day I will always remember, it was bittersweet too, but it was nice to be able to spread my wings into the new adventures of life and make new friends in a totally different place.

Its how we discover who we really are and do some soul searching to hopefully begin to develop and get our newly found adult life on track for life away from the nest of our folks.

You'll be fine, just focus on why you are attending school and do well.  Then you'll be able to land that job you will want and need one day, and try to enjoy your newly found liberties and stay focused with positive folks.

  2. It's all part of it. Once you get to college, give yourself one week to really allow yourself to get into it. It will take at least a few days to really get used to it and enjoy it. I had one heck of a time when I left home for college years ago. (I actually ended up coming home and not going back to college for a couple of years...but I was suffering from a terrible depression, so that doesn't count.) You will make friends there before you know it, and you won't even want to come home.

This will be one of the most fun periods of your life, honey. Don't worry too much. :) Just give it a chance. Good luck!!!
