Sadam Hussein?

I've heard ppl say that the U.S. helped put Sadam Husein in power. I've wiki'd this to try to clarify if it was just a rumor or specutlation and couldn't find anything on it. Has anyone else heard this rumor or have any credible sources that claim or prove the U.S did put him in power or had a hand in it? Or if not, does anyone have other sources besides wiki they can link me that shows the U.S had no involvement? I'd much rather have a few sources to compare the information to each other, than just go off of one information site/sorce.

  1. Saddam got to power on his own, but the US did plenty of business with him from near the beginning.  Why wouldn't we?  He was a secular dictator that modernized his country and was willing to fight a proxy war against Iran for us.  Removing him from power was the worst thing we could have done.  If the middle east was run by more guys like Saddam the world would be a more peaceful place.

  2. Certainly yes! The united states has greatly assisted Saddam in the Iran-Iraq war and gas has served in the

massacre of Kurds were produced the united states!.

  3. Of course that Sadam Hussein was put in the goverment of Irak with the HELP of the CIA , figthing against Iran that was supported by the Soviet Union, then when the Cold war was over, he become useless and the CIA removed him....

Then the CIA erased all the websites with independent sources .....
