  1. it all is going to depend on the saddle the seat size depends on you not the horse. your saddle is measured to your horse in the tree size.

so if his back is more narrow then his tree size would be a narrow.

and if it was regular his tree size would be regular

and if it was wide, then it would be wide.

i would highly suggest trying the saddle before you got it and going to get measured for one.

a locl or nearby tack shop could measure your seat size, free.

  2. about 15-16 inches. my horse is 15.3hh and he fits the best in a 16 in saddle.

  3. I have two different size saddles. Different weights also.

I have and 18 " and a 16"  The 18 is a heavier saddle, the 16 is a lighter leather. You need to just go sit on some and find what's comfortable for you. My horse is also approx. 1100lbs, so both fit her as well. Girt is 32 - 36 in.

  4. You will probably need a narrow/medium tree. The seat is up to your preferance/size though. I like the HDR and collegiate saddles for my narrowish TB. They fit him the best.

  5. The inches in the saddle fit you not the horse.

Get help fitting your saddle.  In western you will probably take a semi quarter horse bars.  In english they have a similiar size but I can not remember the name.
