Question:

Saddle Pad Help Please!?

I need a riser pad for my horse but I dont want spend more than $40.Is it possible to just make one out of a thin piece of foam or do I need to buy one? What do you all think? I was looking at these two pads:

  1. well it depends on how bad the horse needs the pad does he have high withers because if  so neither of those will work because if u read it says ultra thin u need something thicker and it most likley will be over 40 dollars horses are expensive these days but if he really needs it u have to get


  2. i have one very similar to that first one and i have had it years, it works not only as a risor but as a shok absorber its great :), it will also mold its self to fit the horses back

  3. Well, those two risers are a bit different.  The first one raises the front of the saddle, the second one raises the back.  So it's hard to say which one would be better for your saddle--it depends on which end your are trying to raise.

    EDIT:  Glad to help.  Go with the first one then.  I've used that kind before and they've worked just fine.  They are made of a denser foam than just the foam you buy at a craft shop, and since they are shaped particularly for the saddle, I think they are worth the money.
