  1. Some people said it isnt about fitting the horse, its about fitting you. this is absolutley not true!!! If the saddle doesn't fit the horse, it will end up with a sore back and not happy. It will be best to go to a saddle shop and get him fitted for the saddle, and you will usually get a few choices, and out of THOSE pick which one will fit you. As a horse owner, the horse should come first :D

  2. The saddle size depends on the owner and really the saddle doesn't need a size thats what the grith is for.

  3. Seriously? Are you kidding? You've ridden before, right? (If no, break the sale RIGHT NOW and go get some lessons, then after a few years buy a horse.) And by "ridden", I mean taken riding lessons for a few years. As in, 2 or more. If you haven't, break the sale and get some lessons RIGHT NOW and after a few years, you can buy a horse. If you have, do you ride english or western? English: http://www.evideofiles.com/calculators2/... Western: http://www.evideofiles.com/calculators2/... . That will give you your saddle size, but you also need a saddle to fit the horse. Personally, I would hire a professional saddle fitter.

  4. is this horse name tacoma?

  5. There are two measurements on the saddle:  The tree width (to make sure the saddle fits the horse--usually between 28 and 32) and the seat size (to fit the rider--usually between 15 and 19).

It's impossible to say what size tree your horse would need.  Some horses are tall and narrow, some are wider.  Your best bet is to haul the horse to a saddle shop, and have them help fit a saddle there.  Once you figure out which saddle you want and what tree size fits him, then you just get that saddle in the particular seat size that fits you.

  6. Here is a website that will help you figure out what size saddle you are

    http://www.statelinetack.com/western.asp...

in the middle of the page there is a picture of a saddle and them it says saddle under it and to the left it says find the perfect seat size click on that and then enter in you hight and stuff

  7. No you want the saddle to fit to you not your horse. It depends on how big your rump is. Your going  to have to go and try A few out. Its hard telling with out knowing what size you are.

  8. The saddle size as far as 14" or 16" or whatever means that the seat is say, 14 inches long. In western riding, this is from the bottom of the swells to the top of the cantle. A size 14 seat saddle is good for most women anywhere from 100 pounds to 150 pounds. A 15 inch saddle is a good size for the average sized rider, male or female. The number, as in 15 or 16 has nothing to do with your horse. Now as far as fitting your horse, you need to go by how much whithers he has, and his breed. Saddles are built on bars, and the width of the bars determines how well it fits your horse. Most quarter horses use  Semi Quarter Horse bars. However, for those with nearly no withers and a round back, you'll want Full quarter horse bars. You really want to see which will fit your horse the best. Have a saddle maker measure your horse with the tree of different saddles he has. You want your horse's back to not get sore from an ill fitting saddle. Hope I could help out!
