Sadler’s Mark to impact the debut at Naas in the Naas Apprentice Handicap
The five-year-old bay gelding, Sadler’s Mark has bounced back into form in which he entered the new season. His sixth outing of 2012 will be in the Naas Apprentice Handicap on Monday, 6th August, 2012 at Naas over a mile. Nine three-year and above runners have turned for the race that carries the prize money of €6,900.
Sadler’s Wells’ gelding shot into the season with a third position in the Campile Apprentice Handicap on 19th May, 2012 at Wexford over a mile and half a furlong. He dead heated the position with, Jouster as the race was won by the favourite entry of the race, Prince Jock who won by the margin of two lengths.
Sadler’s Mark took the runner-up’s honours in the second outing of the season in the Live At Leopardstown Festival Of Music And Racing Handicap on 8th June, 2012 at Leopardstown over a mile and two furlongs. He managed the position in companionship with jockey, Danny Mullins.
The race was won by, Pivot Bridge who led by 1 ¾ lengths while the third spot was filled in by, Potomac.
The five-year-old bay gelding out of, Waldmark, sustained the form for the first two races of the season only as after that his rankings took on with the downward slope.
The Dermot Anthony McLoughlin trained ended sixth in the Magners Ulster Derby (Premier Handicap) on 23rd June, 2012 at Down Royal over a mile and five furlongs. The race was landed by, Alhellal, who defeated the runner-up by the margin of 1 ¼ lengths.
His fourth attempt of the season was in the Stillorgan Handicap on 19th July, 2012 at Leopardstown over a mile and a furlong. The David Eiffe owned finished fifth while the race was won by, Back Burner.
The most recent race and success of the five-year-old was in the Guinness Time Handicap on 2nd August, 2012 at Galway over a mile and half a furlong. He defeated the runner-up, Maundy Money, by 2 ¼ lengths while riding with jockey, N. G. McCullagh.
The race will be a track debut of the season for the gelding as he has not raced at Naas before. The 11 to 4 entry will be paired up by jockey, Colin Keane.
