While talking about the on-going Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, Saeed Ajmal, the Pakistani off-spinner, has expressed his opinion that the Islanders have a very strong batting line-up but claimed that the Pakistani bowling attack has the capacity to dismantle
them.
The first Test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka started on October 18, 2011, at Abu Dhabi, and is expected to be a very keenly contested encounter.
Sri Lanka has some quality batsmen like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TM-Dilshan-c2691. Although, Sri Lanka has not won a Test match for almost a year, but in the presence of these quality cricketers, it is going to be a challenge for any
bowling line-up of this world to trouble them.
Ajmal believes that the strength of the Sri Lankan team lies in their batting department, but said that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755’s bowling is superior and this is the reason why, Green Shirts have every chance of winning the battle, which is considered as Pakistan’s home
series.
The off-spinner said, “The Sri Lankans are a very balanced team. They are a good side, but I look at the Pakistan side and my team mates and I feel that we can be successful in the test series. The Sri Lankan’s strength is their batting line-up, but I think
that the Pakistani bowlers are the team’s strong point and we can get the better of the Sri Lankan batsmen.”
Last time a Test series was played in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 last year when Pakistan took on the Proteas for two matches. Both the matches at Dubai and Abu Dhabi failed to produce a result and the series ended in a draw. There was immense criticism on the
pitches prepared for that series as a majority of the cricket analysts believe that the tracks in Test cricket must be supportive to the bowlers as well as batsmen.
However, Ajmal is least bothered about the track and said that he does not worry too much about the pitch and just concentrates on bowling in the right channel.
“I concentrate on landing that ball where I want it to land. Whoever performs the best on those 5 days in each match will succeed, irrespective of the surface,” he added.
