Along with himself, Ajmal has also defended his teammate, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/J-Botha-c1610 as the actions of all these bowlers have been called into question by Darrell.
Ajmal claims that his action has been cleared by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and all the umpires and referees and he is not concerned what the others think and say about him. The spinner also expressed satisfaction on his skills and style.
Ajmal’s views have come to spotlight following Hair’s book which has sparked a new wave of controversies in International cricket by lampooning so many bowlers at the same time.
Talking to the media today, the spinner said, “They can say what they want but the ICC has cleared our actions and of course, umpires and referees are there too. It's within the rules.”
About Hafeez, he told, “He (Hafeez) bowls a very good delivery that goes straight on and batsmen find hard to read. Commentators can say all they want, but all those who have been cleared by the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 are still bowling.”
Commenting on the actions of Harbhajan and Botha, he stated, “Harbhajan and Botha have had their actions queries in the past and are still bowling. I really don't know why they keep targeting us.”
On the other hand, Harbhajan has also reacted strongly against Hair’s claims and termed his action to be quite legal and right.
Ajmal is a part of Team Pakistan’s squad which is ready to leave for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 to play a bilateral series of one Test, 3 ODIs and 2 T20Is. He poses to be the spin mainstay of the team.
The 33-year-old right hander made his international debut in 2008 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750. He has played 11 Tests, 45 ODIs and 30 T20Is so far, grabbing 50, 62 and 43 wickets respectively in three formats.
