Saeed Ajmal not bothered about the new ball at both ends – Cricket News Update
Pakistan’s premier spin bowler, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Saeed-Ajmal-c87859, has said that the new ICC rulings about new balls at both ends is not going to bother him too much as he enjoys bowling with the new, hard ball.
The International Cricket Council has made this amendment in the laws of the game recently and it will be implemented from now onwards. This decision of the ICC has found mixed reaction among the cricket analysts around the world.
A number of cricket experts feel that this is another move by the cricket authorities to hamper the bowlers and help the batsmen. New ball at both the ends will mean that the fast bowlers will not get enough reverse swing at the depth overs.
Ajmal, who is considered as one of the best spin bowlers in the world, believes that normally the spinners do not like to bowl with the new ball but same is not the case with him because he can exploit more bounce off the track with the hard ball.
The off-spinner said, “The new http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 rulings will have very little effect on the way I bowl as I will simply get more bounce with the new ball - if anything, this could be beneficial to my bowling and aid my variations!”
While talking about the upcoming Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033, Ajmal said that there are some extra-ordinary batsmen in the Sri Lankan team and it is going to be a huge challenge for the Pakistani bowlers to dismantle them. However,
he is very confident of a good show against the Islanders.
“Their batting is experienced, they have two or three batsmen who are very experienced and InshaAllah we will perform well. I'll play normally, I have played against them quite a few times and InshaAllah I will give a good performance,” Ajmal added.
The Test series between the two countries will start from the 18th of October, 2011 at Abu Dhabi. It will be followed by five One Day Internationals and a T20 fixture. Both the teams are evenly matched and a very tough battle is expected between
them.
