Saeed bin Suroor expects Farhh to shine in JLT Lockinge Stakes
Trainer Saeed bin Suroor is expecting Farhh to deliver a strong result in the JLT Lockinge Stakes (British Champions Series) (Group 1) at Newbury in England on Saturday, May 18, 2013.
“To win this race is very important to us, to start this year with a big winner,” said Bin Suroor. “So far most of the horses we have run have not been good enough to win. This race is very important for us - we have won it four times in the past and it
would be very good to see our horse win the race.”
The trainer added: “He won first time as a two-year-old and got injured, then he ran one and won one the next year and got injured again - he is an unsound horse - there is always something with him. Then when he worked as a four-year-old he showed some
class. It wasn't easy to beat Frankel, but to finish second twice shows there is class there.”
The five-year-old horse has managed to deliver some very good performances for his team since the start of his career and it seems that he will not make life easy for his opponents in the upcoming event.
Interestingly, the seasoned stallion has never dropped out of the top-three even once in his career. Despite that, he doesn’t have a very good strike rate, which shows that he has missed out on winning races on quite a few times. He will be looking to improve
his form and start winning races with consistency.
Overall, he has participated in a total of eight races, which shows that he has got some useful experience. The important part is that he has been victorious on three times whereas finished as a runner up on four occasions.
In addition to that, he has secured the third spot once, which shows that he is fully capable of fighting for the top three positions and it will not be easy for his rivals to stop him from being competitive.
In his most recent race, Farhh ended up runner up by a head distance, which would have been a touch disappointing for his team. However, he will be looking to make amends this time around.
