Hi... I'm planning a trip to Bangkok with my family of four (3 adults & one 2 year old kid)...

I am currently planning my itinerary and would like to include a visit to the zoo over there... Found out there's Dusit Zoo and also Safari World... If given only a choice out of these two, which is a better place to visit?

Thanks

  1. They're both good, the Dusit Zoo is more of a traditional type of zoo and is located in the city and can easily be combined with a visit to Vinmanmek Mansion, the Marble Temple and other tourist attractions in the area. Safari World has many shows like Orangutan Boxing, Sea Lion shows, Wild West shows and a ride through a wild animal safari park and will take about an hour each way to get to. The Dusit Zoo charges a nominal fee for admission, Safari World is a lttle pricey to get into, and will take most of a day to visit. Both are good to visit but totally different types of places, it depends on the type of attraction that appeals to you.

  2. Two very different atractions: Dusit Zoo is a rather old fashioned zoo, with the animals in not to big cages. Safari World is a modern family amusement park with animals.

Depends on you: what do you like best? I have no experience with 2 year olds; I think Safari World might be a bit too much for a toddler.

  3. Dusit Zoo is way cheaper and just your basic zoo. Safari World is more like a Western-style attraction with high prices.  Something like 700 baht/person.  But you can drive through their big Safari area with a bunch of African animals just running around free.  I imagine the animals have to drugged or well-fed or something because they're all pretty docile.
