  1. I was born in Kenya and have travelled to most parts of it. Truth is, Kenya is diverse and you have so many safari options. I ve done a lake safari, a beach safari and hope to go to the north side which is more desert like - and some what dangerous.

I guess, being local I enjoyed every part of it because I knew the best time to go, the cheap places and I went with friends.

But for you, if it is your first trip to Kenya, make sure you combine your safari with a trip to the coast. ITs nice there.

    All the best.

  2. Masai Mara in Kenya, where the lodges were absolutely luxurious and the wildlife was teeming, the one small problem was that all of the jeeps talked to each other so that when one spotted a leopard, for example, all of a sudden lots of jeeps would suddenly appear from everywhere after the same prize. However there were huge numbers of animals, we could get very close to them and we did see the 'Big 5'.

Etosha in Namibia, not as many animals as the Mara but a stunning place never the less, in fact Namibia seems like one big safari as you pass so many animals every day.

  3. Hi my wife and i went on safari two years ago and i can honestly say it was a mind blowing experience. We loved every single second of it.We spent 2 days in Kenya at tsavo west and east, and spent 5 days in Tanzania.I cant put into words what this  fantastic adventure gave us.One thing to remember though that this is real nature so be prepared to see some things that you might not like.i.e a lion kill etc.

The second week we spent in Kenya(Mombassa) in a  very nice hotel on the beach.Although this was very nice it did not compare with the pure magic of the week before.

We were lucky on safari as we saw the big 5 mainly because we had such a good guide (His name was "Good Luck) and all the lodges where we stayed were Fantastic. All the locals who we saw were so polite  and helpful but remember this is a poor country so you will some poverty and i mean poverty .

The Safari its self will stay with us for the rest of our lives and we are saving to go back there again as soon as its possible .Just one impotant note ,take a good camera and loads and loads and loads ets of film or memory cards for you will certainly need them.
