  1. honestly...and i LOVE mexico....there is no safe, clean, border towns.  i can't think of a single one.  this is part of the reason why americans think mexico is so nasty, they judge it based on the border towns!!  border towns are never good....it's the interior you want to get to.

  2. mm In Nuevo Leon the Colombia Bridge and Reynosa or you can go to Monterrey that is like 2 hours from Reynosa, and It's a big city.

    =)

  3. If you had left out the 'does it exist' portion of your question you might get better, more informative answers. It strikes me as rude and condesending.I don't know if that was your intention when you wrote it....I hope it wasn't.

Contrary to some of the answers you have already recieved to your question from others here the 'correct answer' would be,YES they (plural) do exist. Anyone who had actually traveled in Mexico to somewhere beyond boystown or one of the all-inclusive 'made for gringos' hotels in Cancun would

    probably already know this.

If your question is indeed serious, then I would suggest you take a look at a map of the US/Mexico border and try to isolate a location(s) that you think might suit your needs and make a list. Then do some detailed research on each of your choices. Finally get in the car and go take a look at the best candidates. This is the exact process I followed six years ago and it has worked out very well for me...Good luck with your quest, perhaps you will choose the same city I did.

  4. None

  5. me either. *shrug*

  6. I haven't been to all of them, but it kinda seems like they're all pretty nasty, dingy and with crime problems, there was actually a gang fight with automatic weapons near the Nuevo Laredo border crossing a few years back.  If you want to see Mexico, the *nice* Mexico, avoid the border towns!

Monterrey was a good suggestion.  I recall Saltillo not being too bad either, it has some colonial stuff. Generally I prefer central and southern Mexico, though.

  7. There aren't any safe towns on the border.

All I could suggest is Monterrey which is fairly safe and not 2-3 hours from Nuevo Laredo.
