Safe Cleaners: Can I add a little borax to my scunci/shark steamer?

Normally I just add water, but was wondering if I could dissolve some borax in the water and add that to the steamer....Have you ever done this??? I will be using it for mildew removal from the grout above the tub.

It might be wise to contact the manufacturer of your scuni/shark, either by calling their toll free # or checking their web site for contact info..

also you could search the Web for dangers of borax. there are quite a few sites.

Borax is not very safe. Try baking soda or vinegar instead.

I don't think you need to add anything. The whole idea behind your shark is the steam...it is hot enough to kill most bacteria. Adn also by adding chemicals your are going to vaporize them as well which will make it easier to inhale....do you really want to inhale that stuff?
