Safe antivirus programs?

which antivirus programs are safe? cause my computer is telling my i have a virus and it wants me to proceed with "AntiVirus" but i'm not sure if thats just fake or something.

AVG works well for me. They have a free edition that you can use. AVG will scan your computer every day. If you have a virus, go to www.superantispyware.com and download the free edition. Run the scan and it should find and delete the virus. I highly recommend this site.

try to use currect antivirus

my segession is to use bitdefender antivirus
