Safe cars for teens?

my parents are finally considering getting me a car and i was just wondering what is the safest cars for teens that arent low to the ground?

Typically a sedan (i.e. Impala, Taurus, Allure) is low on insurance, and quite safe. Most sedans are built as family cars, so they'll have all the airbags and anti-lock brakes and other safety features.

Minivans I'm told are also pretty safe and low on insurance... not to mention that driving a minivan takes away any desire to drive fast or recklessly! Haha.

Honda/Toyota are good for reliability and dependability, but I find that Hondas/Toyotas are typically small and light, factors that don't bode well for you in an accident.

i hada montero sport, which we did a lot of research and it was a good car. i loved the car and i actually got in a wreck and it didnt really hurt it at all..it was a great car. and now i have a jetta, and they are VERY safe cars and really nice!

best car for a new driver is a late  90's or earlier 2000's  chevy - toyota  - or honda

out of those you should have plenty of options  from a 4 door to a mini suv

- but these are cars that are built to last and easy to repair
