  1. yes. I do it with the other dishes every time I camp. I have done with the cups also.

  2. Yes, enamelware is very safe to eat or drink from.  You can also boil water in a paper cup over an open flame...try it!  It really works!

  3. that sounds risky!!

  4. I would make sure you have a fire/heat proof way of handling this cup.  Blue enamel cups are a tin cup coated with enamel, and they get very, very hot.  A metal coffee pot would be safer (the kind you would percolate coffee in, on a stove top), then pouring the contents in the cups...but be careful, the cup would be very hot, so use the handle.  A coffee pot would also reduce the chance of a boil over, resulting in a lesser chance of getting burned by the boiling water.

  5. Yes, it is safe to boil water in an enamel cup.  Enamel coatings are a high, heat resistant, baked on coating.  Camp fires are not hot enough to ruin them, just don't put them directly on red coals.

It's NOT recommended to soap dishes before cooking with them as the soap burns, or you will end up with a soapy/gooy mess.

Sooty dishes can be washed with a scouring pad and soap/baking soda mixture or using a pumice-based, citrus hand cleaner (exterior only).

It's not recommended to use Teflon coated items on a camp fire (especially the cheap one's)
