  1. If everyone was dodgy on eBay, no one would use it. You can view comments made by other buyers and see how good they are. People will say how long the product took to arrive, if the product was what they were expecting etc. You can also report people.

  2. i use amazon.com you can make up a wish list, wedding wish list and more

  3. Not everyone on ebay is a crook. you can definitely get deals there but you have to make sure you're buying from a reputed seller (the higher his positive feedback Vs the amount)

    and go for namebrands

and normally at the store it costs so much because they have a bigger overhead than selling online...

  4. well nothing is really safe.

if you do not check the seller reputation, and the things like shipping cost, warranty, etc, then there we have a problem

Other than that I think it's ok, but there is a local option

you can try craigslist.org, that's even cheaper

  5. Memory cards are dirt cheap on eBay, and they generally are not scams unless you go above 8gb (for SD cards). I got a 4gb MicroSD card for 21$ shipped while it costs at least the triple in stores.

Just make sure the seller has good feedback (above 97%) and read the description before you buy.
