Safe to do a spirt board on halloween?

My daughter and her firends want to do a spirt board on halloween on there friends road. Is it safe. I belive in it so dose my dughter will it be safe? We are all catholic and i dont want her making a big mistake. She would make one out of wood herself, would this be safe? Shes doing alot of research. Any tips or advice we be really appricated. Thanks
