  1. Of course not.

  2. If the poles are made out of metal, probably not but it's better than under a tree.

  3. Okay, it is honostly not. But I have slept in a tent through a couple of lightning storms and, while it is not safe, your not in an extreme amount of danger as long as you place your tent in a good spot. For example, if you tent is in the middle of a large, flat field, then it is very dangerous because you are the tallest thing around, but if you have a good amount of tree cover, its not AS dangerous because the lightning is more likely to hit the tallest thing. However, while it is certainly do-able to camp during a storm (and usually cant be avoided), it is much safer to sleep on a clear night. (plus, on a clear night you can watch the stars)

  4. I don't know what she's talking about!!! I've slept in a tent during countless lightning storms and I'm still here!

  5. Yes it is safe, as safe as sleeping in your own house and perhaps safer being lightning strikes the tallest object. I have been camping in tents for over 47 years and during that time in many lighting storms. Such has many of my fellow campers. I will suggest you not set your tent up in an open field nor in a dip.

  6. unless you define suicide as safe, then yes.
