Safest credit card for traveling?

Actually, I posted a similar question in the Private Finance area but I can't read the answers....frustrating!

So, I'll try it here and ask a bit differently.

I am looking for the ideal credit card that I can use for traveling in Asia. One that I can use to charge hotel rooms, airline tickets, and to get cash at ATM's. Safety against being ripped off is my highest priority.

american express since they are their own bank and they insure even rental cars, luggage, etc.
