Working sucks so bad I wish I could watch this match, but...

I think it'll be the best match of the tourney. If Safin shows up 100%, I think he'll win.

  1. Can't add anything new, if the old Safin shows up then he has a good chance, but it is unlikely.

Its going to make a more interesting final anyway,Federer v Nadal in his current grass court form.

  2. I agree with you.  I think Federer will win, but it is not a lock for sure.  If Safin plays like he did after the first set today then he has a shot.  Regardless, it should be interesting.   Safin has to be completely on from the beginning but if he is then anything could happen.  I keep thinking that Federer hasn't been tested that much since the beat down from Nadal in the Finals of Paris.  Maybe if Safin puts on the pressure, we could see an upset.

  3. Well according to Safin Federer will win: "“To beat Federer you need to be Nadal and run around like a rabbit and hit winners from all over the place. I think it would be just a little bit too difficult for me to beat him,” said Safin, who last won five successive matches during his triumphant run to the 2005 Australian Open."

I have to agree with him. And this thing about Nadal is hilarious, and so true btw:P

  4. Who knows, somehow i still see Roger prevailing in 3 sets!!! Maybe if Safin plays the tennis off his life he could put out Roger :P !

2 thumbs down im just being realistic ppl . Theres nothing id love more for Rafa to have Safin in the final (if im honest) a much easier opponent than the King Of Grass lol !!!

  5. Simple.  Federer in three or four workout sets.  Go Federer!

  6. Fed has this one. He is playing amazingly. He won the first set against Ancic in 20 mins and only dropped 10 points on his serve the whole match!!!!! Safin is playing well too, but his run will end here!

  7. I think Federer will win, but Safin has like a 10% chance.

  8. If Safin serves well and comes to the net often, he can pull it off. Federer is easily the favorites, but Safin has been pulling off miracle after miracle so far this Wimbledon. Federer should not underestimate him.

  9. i am hoping to God that safin wins it.... i really do..... i am sure he can..... and i think it would be nice for him to have a big win like that...

he has the game to do it!

  10. how can you be gainfully employed and actually think Safin will win?

  11. federer.anytime and everytime...the guy is too good.

  12. The only way for Safin to beat Federer is if he actually believes he can win and doesn't concede that he will lose prior to the actual game. He already conceded defeat in his interview. Nuff said. :P

  13. That's one tough question. Federer crushed Ancic today. Brad Gilbert said it was the best match Federer has played all year. I honestly think Safin has a pretty good chance if he plays like he did against Djokovic, but Federer may easily triumph. Safin has to control his emotions. Federer has a 60% chance of winning, and Safin has the 40%!

  14. Safin can do anything,he has the ability but one thing is sure,he can't control his anger.that's why he lost matches. He needs to be patient against Federer,of course he has to fight to his last breath to beat Fedex.I agree with you It's the best match so far but Fedex vs Nadal that's what I call the best matchup of the tourney

  15. You won't have anything to say when Safin actually beats Federer. Safin can beat anyone on any given day; it's just a matter of him prevailing over his inner demons.

Edit: Just look at today's match. Maybe if it weren't for the rain delay Safin would have been out in three sets, but he got himself together and played a solid game. If he keeps being the way he has been this Wimbledon, which is calm, cool, and collected, he has a fighting chance versus Federer.
