Saga De Tercey to strike a hat trick through the SAFC Foundation Novices’ Hurdle at Sedgefield on 3rd April
The Class 4 SAFC Foundation Novices’ Hurdle is to get staged at Sedgefield over two miles and four furlongs on Tuesday, 3rd April. The race has attracted a lineup of seven runners and the winner will get entitled to the £2, 534 purse.
Leading with the best credentials is Saga De Tercey, Sagacity’s seven-year-old bay gelding out of mare Fanciulla Del West. He has kept his performance pretty consistent specially in the three starts that he made during the new season.
Two out of those three outings culminated into victory.
He broke into the season on 5th January by taking part in the John Wade Earthworks & Demolition Novices’ Hurdle (Qualifier) at Sedgefield over two miles and four furlongs.
Saga De Tercey was second against the winner, Alpha Victor, but was able to side track the 5/4 favourite of the race, All That Remains, by keeping charge of the eleven lengths.
Saga De Tercey was ridden by Jason Maguire. Provided that it was the first seasonal attempt and that he was not sent as a favourite and was able to surpass All That Remains, was a convincing start of the season.
16th February, the second start of the season for Saga De Tercey had him winning as the 15/8 favourite of the race. He won the TurfTV Novices’ Hurdle over two miles and four furlongs at Musselburgh.
Winstone was the runner up of the race while Blazin White Face settled third behind the winner.
Saga De Tercey’s most recent outing was at Sedgefield over two miles and four furlongs on 4th March in the John Wade Earthworks And Demolition Novices’ Hurdle.
He was the 11/10 favourite winner of the race, leading by twelve lengths. Finishing the closest to the winner was Anychancedave who was soon followed by Over And Above on a field that was being contested by eleven participants.
Another entry who has raced at Sedgefield is the five-year-old Walser but he could not win through that start as he was positioned fourth in the Cleanerairsolutions.Co.UK Solar Powered Standard Open national Hunt Flat Race.
Walser might just be remotely threatening but he does need to be looked out for.
