Saga Dream stuns rivals in Grand Prix de Vichy-Auvergne - Horseracing News

Saga Dream took his opponents by surprise in the Grand Prix de Vichy-Auvergne (Group 3) in France.
The seven-year-old gelding was not given the best odds for victory, but he was still expected to make a strong impression in the race. As a result, the punters gambled quite a few bets in his favour and he did not let them down.
He has got plenty of experience and used that to his advantage in the race.
After the race, the winning trainer Freddy Lemercier said, “I didn't particularly give any orders to Christophe to set off in front but I've always thought we might try it at some stage and he was in the right spot as the race
panned out.”
He added, “A big word also must be said for his regular jockey, Thierry Jarnet, who has helped make the horse what he is. As for the future I have no holiday planned for him so we'll look at the Prix Gontaut-Biron at Deauville.
He's always at his best in the autumn so we'll look forward to that.”
Saga Dream started off his career in 2009 and has taken part in a lot of races since then. He is quite an exciting runner and has won some big races for his camp over the years. However, victories have not come with consistency
for him, which is a bit disappointing for his fans. He has the ability to deliver strong result, but needs everything to work out his way perfectly.
Overall, the French runner has participated in a total of 36 races, which clearly shows that he is quite fit and has got the stamina to continue racing for his camp. He has won only eight races until now whereas finished as a runner
up five times. Other than that, he has ended up third on 10 occasions, which goes onto prove that he gives a tough time to his opponents on most of the times and does not allow them to dictate terms completely.
This year has been a good one for the veteran runner, as he has won a couple of races. He will be looking to succeed in a few more events before the end of the year.
