' red sandal oil ' is available in herbal medicine stores in kerala also.  red sandal is not a costly wood like sandalwood which has become rare in india after felling off the sandalwood trees in the woods in the south. but at present red sandal wood is also getting smuggled  from  southindia to other parts of the country
