Haha. This is so funny, I am bit informed about astrology. I do not believe it can predict ones future, but it might give some details about the traits the people born under a certain sign would have. The most convincing reason I have come across is the effects of gravity on the fetus in the womb, which makes some sense. However, if this is to holds true, then there are a few questions:
- Any child born before the completion of 9 months of gastation can really not be considered under the sign one would traiditionally assign?
- What stages of gastation are more affected by the effects of gravity the most?
- Is there any relation to the actual time of the birth?
- Is that place of birth that dictates the sign more so, or the place where the mother stayed through most of the pregnency?
- How does the signs get affected if the mother travelled across the world during the pregnancy?
As you see, around 140 AD, all these questions would be darn irrelavent, but not today. So how does one address all these questions. Having interest in astrology I admit that knowing what someone assures you about yourself, is a comforting thing, it is equally stupid. Would you let people tell you what your favorite drink, or game or foo should be??? Only if the astrologers would give us that info, some of us might stick with it, too. ;)
The truth is that what the astrologers work with are assumptions, one on top of the other. The misconception that the day and place of your birth can be enough is not true either, based on the rules of astrology itself. The hour of your birth would also be important, at times much more than the date could be by itself. And even if at some point, this jumble gumble could reveal some truth, for most of us now a days its no more than a little game, really.
If the gravitations have some effects, for ppl concieved and born at the same placce, after a normal term pregnancy, the best the zodia can reveal is certain streaks in ones personailty, which are often expressed by the elements, i.e. fire, water, eart, air, etc. Its nothing about which one should stop breathing. Have some confidence in what you are, a living breathing human being. There should be a little difference between a human, and asteroid. :)
