Tottenham Hotspur striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Louis-Saha-c22459 has completed a move to Sunderland ahead of the new Premier League season.

The move had been imminent since the start of the week when Saha announced that he will be starting negotiations with Sunderland over a possible move to the Stadium of Light. The Black Cats, under manager Martin O’Neil, were eager to bring in a striker after
the departure of last season’s on loan striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nicklas-Bendtner-c27726.
Martin O’Neil was also understood to be keen on bringing in Steven Fletcher from the recently relegated Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, the Molineux side’s valuation exceeded what Sunderland were prepared to pay.
Saha was a free agent after being released by Tottenham at the end of the 2011/2012 campaign. The veteran striker has played in a host of Premier League clubs; Manchester United, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019, Tottenham Hotspur and now Sunderland.
The player becomes Sunderland’s second signing of the summer as he makes his move from North London. He joins former Aston Villa defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 on Saturday.
Tottenham Hotspur are in a serious problem with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jermain-Defoe-c18359 the only senior striker they are left with. Saha’s departure leaves the North London club with virtually no options up front. A bigger cause of concern is that Defoe announced last week that he
may be forced to leave the club he loves so much if he’s not guaranteed more playing time.
Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas has hit a brick wall in his attempts to sign a striker so far, especially with last season’s on loan striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526. The Togolese forward was expected to move to White Hart Lane this summer, but refused to take
a pay cut in the transfer, and instead opted to see his lucrative contract out with the English champions.
The Portuguese manager also made a number of moves for other strikers, with reports stating that he was keen on bringing Brazilian Leandro Damiao to the Lane. Recently, the manager was also linked with Valencia’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-Soldado-c31367, but the Spanish striker
snubbed the club and chose to stay in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011.
With Saturday’s opening day clash against Newcastle, Tottenham really need to step up their pursuit of  a striker and complete their transfer dealings as early as possible.
