Tottenham Hotspur’s striker, Saha believes that it is good news for the Spurs that Harry Redknapp didn’t get selected for the England job, since he can now focus on the team even more.
Prior to Roy Hodgson being appointed as the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 boss, Redknapp was being hailed as the favourite to be named as England’s next manager. However, following a series of poor results for the manager with Spurs, the English FA decided to go the other way
and gave the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 to Hodgson instead.
At the moment, it is quite unclear just what the manager is going to be doing and whether he is going to stick around at Tottenham or not.
However, Saha seems to think that it is only good news for the team that Redknapp isn’t going anywhere in the near future.
When talking about the manager and him not getting the England job, the Frenchman is quoted to have said: “Yes it is good for Tottenham, that is for sure”
“Harry is a big man and experienced enough at doing the job to be able to cope. I don’t think the news will make any difference to the players. I have never seen any difference since being here.”
The striker then went on to admit that even when Redknapp was being linked with a move away from the team, the club didn’t get too affected by the decision, since everyone was more focused on doing their job and producing the best possible result for the
team.
“We had a lot of tough luck but it did not help as we were under pressure, the manager was under pressure,” he said.
“He gives a smile to the face of the players and when you have that, the players will give you it back.”
“He knows how to give confidence, some players need an arm around their shoulder and he tailors the way he talks to the players.”
At the moment, it is rather unclear as to what the Tottenham board is going to do and whether they are going to keep a hold of Redknapp or not, given the way he behaved while he was being linked with the England job.
