Sahara sand in england?

One of my family members says they have little grains of sand on her car and she said its from the Sahara desert, like being blown over.. is chattin garbage or what? - How did the sand get that far?

  1. These sands could lift from the lower atmosphere into the higher reaches and can be carried along by the Jet Streams or storm systems.


  2. The wind and pressure belts of the world could carry sand and other small particles long distances. If sand was carried to high levels of the atmosphere, then it could transported to areas far away.
