Saigon or Hanoi?

Which city do you like better and why. If you have a choice to live in one of these cities, which one would you choose?

One more vote for Saigon. My origin was in the North but I love the life here. I've heard all the bars and massage places in Hanoi are about s*x and drugs so finally most of them were closed.

  Look at what we have here...Saigon nightlife...there is just so much fun. The people here are also so much better, more open-minded, more relaxed and friendly.

Saigon. more stuff to do, more modern, better food, better shopping, relaxed city, and some-what nice ppl.

i think the people from up north are up themselves and think they're above everyone and everything.

in saigon, more life and culture takes place.

Hanoi.  Because

it is more original Vietnamese (especially the old quarter)

it has many nice parks

it has lakes

it has more bicycles / fewer cars than HCMC

Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh).  More modern, advance and wider streets.

I was born in SAIGON so i would choose SAIGON over hanoi for sure,HANOI is old,dirty and small town more than a city thought.SAIGON is a business center,economic and entertainent,once call pearl of oriental or paris of asia heh,

  HANOI only number five on the list of largest city of VIETNAM anyway

There would not be a choise for me,i would prefer to die rather than retire in Saigon,the few times i have visited i hated it,the pollution the noise the squalor its not for me.Hanoi,i have been twice and it was ok,at least you could breathe,and of course its much more what you would consider Vietnam to be.
