Depends... I prefer windsurfing but the decision will have a lot to do with where you live, your age, your tolerance to risk and how much effort you are willing to put until you see results.

- For kite surfing and windsurf you should live in a place where winds over 14 mph are common or be the kind of person with a flexible schedule that will go out when is windy and not expect to be windy when you decide you want to go. For sailing you need much less and almost any day is fine.

- Windsurfing is the more difficult to master, it takes effort and perseverance, sailing is the easiest and kite boarding is somewhere in between.

- Kite boarding can be risky. Learn it in a place where you have open sand beaches and somebody to rescue you as you will need to be rescued the first times. If you do not live in an area as such, maybe not the best idea. Accidents are pretty common, even with experts and people get seriously injured.

My vote goes for sailing AND windsurf. You sail with winds up to14 mph and you windsurf if it is over that.

I have only been sailing out of these three choices! My Aunt taught me & went out on her sailboat a few times with some of her older friends we had a blast! As for the other two would love to try them at least once before I die!

Windsurfing. Because when the wind is up and the water is flat you can ride it like a sailboat and go places. And when the wind is up and the chop is up you can ride, jump and have a huge blast like kite boarding

try them all, i personaly sail competively an love it.  if u want to race or compete, sailing is the best choice

Sailing, any size sail boat. We race a Flying Scot, sail a 30 footer up and down the coast. We have owned a wind surfer ut prefer sailing.
