Sailing Update: All Souls Regatta 2010 sailing event
This year’s All Souls Regatta will be the biggest ever organized events of All Souls Regatta. Philippine Hobie 16 fleet and speed keelboats will be a part of this contest, in this superb sailing event in Puerto Galera, Philippine. Multihulls will also be seen providing extra pleasure during the 2010 event.
In 2004, the first All Souls Regatta event was organized. It was planned separately for each racing season of Philippine. This All Souls Regatta starts from the drier northeast monsoon month of October, lasting till the southwest monsoon season’s onset. Sailing contests of racing and fun remain throughout the year but southwest monsoon months keep all sailors active on beaches.
The main objective of the All Souls Regatta was to offer a wonderful place to the sailors and boat owners from the world’s sailing clubs. It also brings a pleasant start of the season for sailing lovers. Contestants from Palawan, Puerto Galera, Subic Bay and Manila participate excitedly in all events each year. For the parallel succession of contests, Yacht Club also brings their Hobie 16s equally for the keelboats and multihulls.
All races are well organized and planned at All Souls Regatta events. Instead of the common start of the race, common finish rule is implemented to bring more excitement, fun and novelty in their races. All opponent sailors return back around the same time at the yacht club, with the champ already known to all and with the shouts for losers and winners. Puerto Galera beaches remain successful in providing great fun every year.
The well known All Souls Regatta is famous around the world as the Asia’s wonderful event for gregarious people and sailors. Puerto Galera is attracting people from all seven seas for fun parties and comradeship. You can even find the arrival of many big boats containing extra cable crew members coming to enjoy on beaches and having fun together.
Besides its appeal for the sailors, All Souls Regatta also offers a wonderful climate for action sports photography. It is the reason that it has been fascinating the photographers from the action sports over these beaches. Lalaguna and Sabang beaches have the best capturing places, whereas Talipanan Beach is equally good for capturing on-deck actions.
For this event, Regatta will follow the standard racing rules of sailing. The races will finish on pursuit race format basis. Some rules will be modified for the event like no signals will be shown and Rule 77 will not be considered. Boats owners can bring their own sponsors but it should be cleared before race to prevent confusion. Participants can get registration by directly sending form to the Puerto Galera Yacht Club administration committee by 20th October, 2010. Five different contest classes are being offered for entry but IRC boats have to show valid certificates before.
Organizing committee will make teams on their own specified rules and requirements. For each boat P 4,000 will be an entry fee. Service boats will be available on request whereas, mooring are limited. Daily prizes or trophies will be given to the first three places in each class. The PGYC authority will not be responsible for any material damage or injury or even death during the regatta race event.
Puerto Galera Yacht Club and its surroundings offer an outstanding place for sailors. Whatever you want on the beaches, it has capacity to surprise you with the best. The All Souls Regatta 2010 is going to start from Saturday, 30th Oct to 1st Nov 2010. The three day event requires contestants to reach 8:00 am sharp on the first day for the registration process. Coastal waters and surroundings of Puerto Galera are getting ready to welcome visitors coming from around the world. This is now an ideal place for sailors to enjoy action sports with superb climate conditions.
