Sailing for a living?

Basically my girlfriend and I are sick of the 8-5 work life of living in LA. I am currently taking sailing classes and plan on buying a boat in the next year. Are there opportunity's to sail the world or mainly the carribean and live care-free without being a ceo or millionaire. Living the simple life is what we strive for and cant stand the hour+ commute to and from work. Is it hard to find work in and around foriegn harbors. Can you leagally charter out your boat in foriegn countries? Any other ideas or experiences of people actually doing this....

  1. There are lots of people running sailing charters for island hopping or scuba diving - just check out some of the different charter companies. I would contact some and see what they require for you to join:

  2. i dont now if you want to go this far but you can get paid to bring other peoples boat to them if they like buy a boat thats made in califonia and they live in new york you can take it to them.  i no someone who does this and they really love it.  but this will also take a lot of work
