Lets say if I wanted to take a vacation and were to sail on a personal yacht, from US to other countries, what are the proper papers I would need to dock in another country?

  1. On top of your own personal papers (ie passport) you will also need a ream of vessels paperwork, which depending on the country will include any or all of the following:- the yachts registration papers, log book, insurance, customs declarations, health declarations, manifests, crew lists etc etc. I would suggest contacting a shipping agent in your intended port of entry to the country and ask them what specifically you will need.


  2. Best bet is to check with the countries you plan to visit. Generally any certificates of seamanship, insurance etc should be brought.
