Wow, how you come up with these incredible match ups is beyond me, you are one of the very best at this site and it is a joy to read your questions.  They are never easy to answer, but they sure are fun to think about.   Qawi was one of the better cruiser weights of his era, and his most notable fights were losses to both Holyfield and Forman.

Tom Sharkey was a brutal brawling slugger who has the distinction of winning by DQ over both Bob Fitzsimmons and "Gentlemen" Jim Corbett, but like Qawi, Tom lost his biggest fights to Jefferies.  The fact that Tom went 20 rounds in losing the first decision, and 25 rounds the second time to Jefferies and both were razor thin losses in which Sharkey gave as good as he got with Jefferies leads me to favor Sharkey over Qawi.

Sailor Tom Sharkey is a legitimate hall of famer, Qawi, while very respected, isn't quite in the league of Sharkey, and I say Sharkey would beat Qawi rather convincingly.
