Saina Nehwal demolishes Bae Yeon Ju in Women’s Singles first round at Yonex Denmark Open
Saina Nehwal, the badminton queen in India, found a perfect start as she eased into Women’s Singles second round after demolishing Korea’s Bae Yeon Ju in first round clash at the Yonex Denmark Open Premier Super Series 2012 in Denmark, on Wednesday, October
17.
The World Number Four Saina, who has been positioned at number three in Women’s Singles seeding in Denmark Open, remained successful in winning her first battle in a convincing manner.
Indian shuttler was in complete control of rallies as she showed her elevated craft while playing against her experienced Korean rival and eventually ended the contest in straight games in just 38 minutes with a decent total on the board.
On the other hand, the World Number 12 Yeon Ju played competitive badminton in the opening set of the match but failed to maintain her rhythm in the ending points and lost it.
Korean shuttler remained unable to create pressure on Saina in the second game and eventually crashed out without showing a strong performance.
Saina played all of her shots to get accommodated with the court conditions in the opening set of the match and remained calm and composed until the end of opening half when both ladies were close on score board.
In the concluding half of first game, the higher ranked Indian shuttler changed her strategy and started to play with superb variations in her shots which helped her to build lead.
The in-form Indian player was in tremendous control in the ending points of first game and managed to win the first game with a considerable margin of 21-17.
In the second set of this interesting fight, Saina showed her class from opening points by controlling the pace of rallies and constructed a remarkable lead until the end of first half.
Saina continued her superb display of top class skills in the concluding half of second set and easily finished it up with a 21-17 score on the board.
The impressive Saina easily took her opening fight in the tournament in a convincing fashion with a striking margin of 21-17 and 21-17.
