Saina Nehwal eyes to win Women’s Singles title at All England Open Premier Super Series
India’s ace Saina Nehwal is ready to live up to expectations and win Women’s Singles title at the All England Open Premier Super Series, starting from March 6, in Birmingham, England.
The World Number Four Saina has been working well in training sessions for the last couple of months and is ready to shine at All England Open, which is undeniably the most prestigious tournament in the world of badminton.
In the last edition of All England Open, Saina delivered a good performance and managed to reach at the semi-final stage.
This time she is more prepared and is determined to put up good show against all opponents.
Saina needs to overcome the Great Wall of China as she will be facing three Chinese opponents in her way to the final of the tournament.
However, the spirited Indian is confident to prove her worth against all Chinese rivals.
Saina is well aware of the fact that all shuttlers from around the world will try to deliver their best in the event, which will award them precious ranking points to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics.
She said, "Every one will give their best at All England. I don't think the first round would be easy. Even the second against Pi Hongyan will be tough. But I am not worried. I have worked very hard but I am relaxed and want to enjoy my game."
While talking about Chinese opponents, Saina said that she is not worried about them as she wants to focus on her every match from the opening round of the tournament.
She added, "I am not worried about it. I know I should beat a few Chinese to win the title. I may face Xuerui in the quarters. She is not very tough to beat. In semis I would meet Wang Xin. It will be a tough contest. But I am not thinking that far and as
always I will concentrate only on the first match I play."
No Indian shuttler could manage to win a title in any category of the game at All England Open since 2001 when Pullela Gopichand, current national coach, grabbed the Men’s Singles title.
However, Saina is the only Indian shuttler who has the skill to challenge the world and will be a potential contender for the title at the All England Open.
