Saint-Etienne striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dimitri-Payet-c11276 attracting interest from English Premier League
According to reports in Toulouse, Ligue 1 side, Saint Etienne midfielder, Dimitri Payet, is under the radar of several English Premier League clubs.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 International has previously been linked to a move to Paris Saint Germain and many rumours initially suggested that Payet may join Les Parisiens after the end of the current campaign.
Furthermore, Saint-Etienne are also looking to make some profit on the player whose contract at the club will expire in the summer of 2012. With still one year left on his contract, Payet is also looking for a move elsewhere in order to raise his profile
on the European stage.
The 24-year old France International, who was previously linked with moves to Paris Saint Germain and Olympique de Lyonnais, is reportedly a Premier League target.
It has been suggested that defending Premier League champions, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 FC are looking to table an offer on the player as soon as the summer transfer window opens this June.
However, Chelsea isn’t the only club that’s keen on signing the talented midfielder. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 are also reportedly linked with the player and it is believed that manager Kenny Dalglish has identified the versatile midfielder as a primary transfer target
for this summer.
Saint Etienne are currently in seventh place in the Ligue 1 standings and have amassed 41 points from 30 games. This season, Payet has made 25 appearances for Les Verts and has scored 10 goals and has 2 assists to his name.
It has also been suggested that Chelsea tried signing the player in the January transfer window but a move never materialised, as the player chose to end the season with his current club.
Now, it is believed that Chelsea are lining up an offer in the region of 8 million Euros to sign the player. It remains to be seen if Saint-Etienne would allow the player to leave for the aforementioned amount but it is getting more certain that the striker
is keen to make a move away from the club as soon as the season ends.
