Saint Gervais set to stand first in Handicap Hurdle
Saint Gervais is all set to seal first position in the Follow Us On Twitter Handicap Hurdle, a high-voltage Irish contest that will be held at Cork racecourse on Monday, April 23.
For the prize cheque of €10,005, the John E. Kiely-trained bay gelding will compete against 16 rivals such as Anshan Dreams, In A Nutshell, Millieann, Concrete And Clay, Tribes And Banner, Fourth Class, Madame Mado, Total Reality, Adropaupep, Lend A Hand
Son, Gerdalia, Rowanville Lady, Jerry´s Agent, Silas Mariner, Sounds Of Thunder, Gerbera.
The race over a distance of 2 miles will commence at 6:20 (GMT). Each of the above runners looks to be strong enough but Saint Gervais stands above all in terms of his unique talent and inherent racing capabilities.
The seven-year-old brilliant horse bagged a couple of consecutive victories each on July 25 and September 15, 2011. He went ahead to grab a runner-up position on March 8, 2012.
The maverick horse marvellously clinched top spot in his last outing on April 05. Overall, he has won 3 out of his total 9 starts to date, earning £20,856 as prize money.
Currently, Saint Gervais owns a lot of winning momentum which suggest that he will make a big impact in the coming contest. His chances to finish first will be as high as 94 percent provided he does not lose his stamina on the track.
Anshan Dreams and In A Nutshell are also likely to perform well in the race.
Anshan Dreams has won 3 out of his total 15 starts. The Adrian Maguire-trained bay gelding finished 3rd each in his last two outings during November 2011. The veteran horse started his career in May 2009.
On the other hand, In a Nutshell grabbed a runner-up rank each in four races from June 13 to August 19, 2011. C. Byrnes’ bay gelding broke his maiden on September 1. He went ahead to finish 4th each in his last two starts during September-October.
In the light of the above analysis, it is anticipated that there will be a tough tug of war between Saint Gervais and In A Nutshell. Let us see who manages to thrive. Good luck to all the runners.
